PPCCSM Launches a Massive REOPENING Push With a Brand New Website
During our season of quarantine, and with the support of our community, we worked on preserving our stories as an online addition to the museum and event space. As you may have noticed, we underwent a website and social media reboot.
Welcome to our new website! We now have a modern site where we can share everything that we know and love about Price Public Community Center and Swift Museum (PPCC+SM) with our online community both near and far.
While exploring the site, you can learn about the history of Black education here in Rogersville, Tennessee, through the Swift Museum, which is housed at The Community Center. After the Civil War there were very few colleges a Black person could attend. Swift College was one place where Black people could receive an education. The museum showcases the history and legacy of Swift College and its graduates.
Our new site also allows you to make online reservations to rent our Assembly Room for events such as family reunions, weddings, award receptions, graduation parties, and birthday parties. Booking your event at the Assembly Room event space provides much needed funding for “The Center” to continue its mission of preservation and community enrichment.
Finally, we’ve added functionality so that you can make donations online. Your tax-deductible gift will help ensure that the community of Rogersville always has a place to gather and share good times. And it will help to preserve the historical value of our landmark building and the educational programming of the Swift Museum.
We ask for your support to make this a banner year for The Center, which would provide a full year of funding needed to operate and maintain the PPCC+SM building and services. Consider making a recurring gift online.
